Thousands of Left-Wing Operatives from Across the Globe Just Met in Barcelona to Plot How to Fight Conservatives — Guess Who Organized It All

We’ve spent years being told that the idea of a shadowy network of globalist elites coordinating left-wing policy across borders was a “conspiracy theory.” Tin foil hat stuff. Fever dreams of people who watch too much cable news. Well, last weekend in Barcelona, Spain, thousands of left-wing operatives from over 100 countries gathered for something called the “Global Progressive Mobilization Summit” — co-signed by Soros-funded organizations, headlined by Alex Soros himself, and featuring a who’s-who of international socialists. They even put out a press release. The conspiracy theory has a catering budget and a lanyard station.

So let’s get this straight: the son of the man who’s spent billions remaking the global political landscape flew to Spain, stood on a stage, and thanked “incredible leaders and advocates” for showing up to plan how to fight “conservative and far-right forces” — meaning you, your vote, and everything you believe in — and we’re still not allowed to call this what it is? Cool. Cool cool cool.

The summit ran April 17-18 and was hosted by Spain’s radical leftist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and his party, El Partido Socialista. If that name sounds like something a Bond villain’s political wing would call itself, that’s because it basically is. Sanchez has spent years turning Spain into a progressive laboratory, and now he’s opened the doors to let every global leftist with a passport come take notes.

And the guest list? Magnificent. Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut was there in person — because apparently Connecticut’s problems are all solved and he had time to fly to Barcelona to strategize with international socialists. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa showed up. Bernie Sanders phoned in a video message, presumably from a chair he’s been sitting in since 1974. Hillary Clinton sent a video too, because of course she did. And New York City’s new socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani — the guy who’s currently turning Manhattan into a government-run grocery experiment — beamed in to share his wisdom with the global progressive brain trust.

But here’s the part that should make your blood pressure spike. The organizations listed as co-signers and organizers of this little soirée include the European Council on Foreign Relations and the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Both of them are bankrolled by George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. We’re not talking about pocket change, either. ECFR has received nearly $50 million from Open Society since 2016. The Center for American Progress Action Fund pulled in another $5.2 million. That’s $55 million in Soros money flowing into organizations that just co-hosted an international summit designed to coordinate a global political strategy against conservative governance.

Fifty-five million dollars. For context, that’s enough to fund roughly 11 of those New York City government grocery stores that will never open. But at least this money is being spent efficiently — on plane tickets to Barcelona and conference rooms where people who’ve never held a real job can discuss how to run yours.

The summit’s own website describes its mission as providing a “necessary alternative to conservative and far-right forces” while “defending democracy and advancing social justice.” Translation: they looked at election results around the world — Trump winning, conservative movements surging across Europe, populism on the rise in South America — and panicked. So they called a meeting. A big, expensive, international meeting where they could figure out how to stop regular people from voting the wrong way.

They call it “defending democracy.” We call it “overruling it.”

And here’s the thing that should bother every American regardless of party: a sitting U.S. Senator participated in a foreign-hosted, foreign-funded political strategy summit organized by entities backed by a single billionaire family. Chris Murphy didn’t go to Barcelona for the tapas. He went to coordinate with international political operatives about how to undermine the policy agenda that American voters chose. If a Republican senator had attended a summit organized by a right-wing billionaire’s network in, say, Budapest, CNN would run a seven-part documentary series with ominous music and a narrator who whispers.

But because it’s the “right” kind of billionaire — the progressive kind, the one who funds district attorney races and open-border NGOs and media fact-checkers — it’s fine. It’s actually noble. It’s “defending democracy” from the people who keep winning democratic elections.

Let’s also appreciate the audacity of Alex Soros personally. This is a man whose entire career is his last name. He inherited his father’s political empire the way other people inherit a lake house. And now he’s standing on stages in European capitals, welcoming world leaders, and positioning himself as the quarterback of a global progressive movement. He’s not elected. He’s not appointed. He’s not accountable to anyone. He’s just rich and ideological — which in progressive circles makes you a philanthropist, but in conservative circles makes you an oligarch. Funny how that works.

The word they keep using is “progressive.” Progressive summit. Progressive mobilization. Progressive values. But there’s nothing progressive about a billionaire’s son flying to a foreign country to coordinate political strategy with government leaders from 100 nations. That’s not progress. That’s a board meeting. And we’re not on the board.

They’re not even hiding it anymore. They’re publishing the guest lists, posting the photos, and issuing press releases about how they’re going to fight back against the voters who keep electing the wrong people. The conspiracy theory didn’t just turn out to be true — it turned out to have a website, a logo, and a Barcelona venue with ocean views.

Remember this the next time someone tells you that concerns about globalist coordination are “misinformation.” They held a summit. They invited thousands. They put a Soros at the podium. And they told you exactly what they’re planning to do.

The only question left is whether we’re going to let them.
