Kamala Was ‘Last in the Room,’ First to Flee Accountability

Three years since the disastrous pullout from Afghanistan, and where’s Vice President Kamala Harris? Nowhere to be seen. And President Joe Biden? Off on another vacation—again. Meanwhile, the families of the 13 service members who died in Kabul still haven’t heard from either of them. Instead, they’ve asked former President Donald Trump to lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. At least someone’s stepping up to honor their sacrifice.

Remember, Harris was supposedly “the last person in the room” when the decision to evacuate Afghanistan was made, even as the Taliban blatantly violated Trump’s conditions-based withdrawal agreement. But leading isn’t just about sitting in the room or making calls—it’s about showing up. It’s about meeting the troops and their families, especially in times of loss. But let’s be honest, this administration has been more interested in dodging accountability than facing the consequences of their failures.

And let’s not forget Harris’ grand claim during her DNC acceptance speech when she dismissed Trump as an “unserious man.” Talk about irony. Harris is essentially at the helm of an administration that has proven to be the definition of “unserious” when it comes to national security. From her position as the second-in-command, Harris has overseen one disastrous decision after another, including the biggest threat—covering up the extent of Biden’s mental decline.

Biden’s cognitive issues aren’t exactly breaking news. His stumbling, verbal blunders, and inability to respond coherently have signaled problems for years. It became glaringly obvious after his debate loss to Trump when Biden seemed completely checked out. And what does he do next? Heads off to vacation after vacation, first to Santa Barbara, then to Rehoboth Beach, barely lifting a finger in between.

This administration’s idea of leadership seems to be stalling for time. Harris and the Democratic Party didn’t fully invoke the 25th Amendment but sidelined Biden enough to keep him as a figurehead while Harris plays the outsider. It’s a half-baked coup to cling to power, with Biden’s empty shell serving as the ultimate scapegoat.

Compare this with Ronald Reagan, who in 1994, years after leaving office, publicly announced his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. He addressed his illness with courage and transparency, allowing the nation to honor his legacy. Fast forward to Biden, now 81, who, instead of showing an ounce of Reagan’s dignity, continues to occupy the Oval Office as if nothing’s wrong. Harris and Biden’s team are complicit in this charade, failing to be honest about Biden’s condition. It’s the epitome of an unserious approach to leadership.

If Harris’s leadership in Afghanistan wasn’t bad enough, let’s not forget the administration’s other major blunders. Remember Kabul, August 2021? The U.S. pullout should have been orderly, but it turned into chaos. Thirteen service members were killed in a bombing, and thousands of Americans and allies were stranded. Not one official has been held accountable. Harris was in the room, but clearly, accountability was not.

Then there’s the administration’s weak response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Despite intelligence reports warning of Putin’s intentions, the White House sat back and watched. The result? A full-scale war in Europe, untold suffering, and disrupted global markets. This happened on the watch of an administration that should have done more.

Most recently, the horrific Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023 laid bare the administration’s failure to contain Iran’s terror proxies. With Tehran emboldened, thanks to the administration’s misguided dealings and lifted sanctions, the region is more volatile than ever. This administration’s so-called foreign policy is a joke, and Harris is complicit in every misstep.

Harris’s claim that Trump is an “unserious man” falls flat when you look at the state of our national security. From foreign policy disasters to blatant cover-ups, this administration is failing at every turn. Harris has proven she’s not the leader she pretends to be. Instead of stepping up, she’s allowed a cognitively impaired president to continue in office while presiding over a string of failures that have made America weaker.

The real national security threat isn’t just out there—it’s in the White House. Harris’s inaction, her role in Biden’s cover-up, and her poor handling of critical issues have left America vulnerable. And unless something changes, we’ll keep paying the price for this administration’s lack of seriousness.
