The woke virtue signaling of corporate America is completely fake when push comes to shove. According to multiple advertising execs, major brands are planning to begin advertising on X (formerly Twitter) next year in hopes of currying favor with the Trump administration. X owner Elon Musk has been facing advertising boycotts ever since he purchased the platform and turned it into a bastion of free speech.
The Democrat Party had a near-total lock on social media censorship when Elon Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion. It enraged the political left when conservatives could finally engage in freedom of speech again.
George Soros’s mouthpiece Media Matters and other “fact checkers” published false reports to discourage brands from advertising on X. If Elon Musk wouldn’t cooperate with the regime’s censorship program, they’d simply strangle him financially by making Twitter/X a non-viable investment.
Lou Paskalis, the CEO of marketing consultancy firm AJL Advisory, says that companies are planning to reallocate marketing dollars to X next year in hopes of getting in Musk’s good graces. Elon is expected to play a central role in the Trump administration, so they view this as a way to improve their odds of winning government contracts.
It’s all incredibly cynical. What this means is that companies have been boycotting X for the past two years in hopes of currying favor with the Biden administration. They’ve turned on a dime and are now planning to throw the woke nonsense, trans ideology, and DEI platitudes under the bus since there will be a new administration in power.
Ever since Musk turned X into a free speech platform, it has turned into one of the main ways that American consumers find news. Meanwhile, CNN and other legacy media outlets are facing extinction in the wake of the 2024 election.
