Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan has stated that one of the top priorities of the Trump administration is going to be tracking down the 320,000 illegal alien children who have been “lost” by the Biden regime and repatriating the kids with their families overseas. Those missing kids are living through a nightmare right now. Some are being used in the sex trade while others are being exploited for cheap labor. A shocking report in the Des Moines Register details how kids as young as 13 are being used in dangerous and illegal jobs as they work the night shift in Iowa’s meat processing plants.
A third-party sanitation contractor in Sioux City has now been fined by the Department of Labor for the second time this year, for violating child labor laws. After Seaboard Triumph Foods LLC spends the day slaughtering hogs, a company called Qvest sends in a night crew of sanitation workers to clean all the dangerous equipment.
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa just approved a consent order under which Qvest must pay $171,919 for violating child labor laws. When the day shift workers at Seaboard Triumph go home at the end of the day, the Qvest workers come in every night to clean the equipment.
Qvest had kids as young as 13 using caustic chemical cleaners to sanitize the head splitters, band saws, jaw pullers, neck clippers, and other fun and dangerous meat-packing equipment. The scandal with Qvest was immediately followed by an identical scandal with a Tennessee-based janitorial services company.
Fayette Janitorial Services was fined $650,000 by the Department of Labor for employing dozens of kids as young as 13 to clean the equipment at Seaboard Triumph. The meat-packing company severed its contracts with Fayette Janitorial Services as soon they discovered that it was under a Department of Labor investigation. The new company from Tennessee had rehired some of the same kids who had been working the night shift for Qvest!
Seaboard Triumph’s lead counsel Paul DeCamp says none of the children were employed by Seaboard itself. They were working for third-party sanitation companies. DeCamp says employers across the country are struggling right now because the illegal aliens, including the children, have forged identity documents that are sophisticated enough to fool the federal government’s E-Verify system.
Another meat-packing company in Iowa, JBS USA, announced that it’s starting its own internal sanitation services because the problem of hiring illegal alien kids is so pervasive in the sanitation industry. JBS had to cut ties with Packers Sanitation Services, Inc., (PSSI) this year after the company admitted to hiring more than 100 kids, often as young as 13. PSSI was cleaning 13 of JBS’s plants across Iowa. The company was fined $1.5 million by the Department of Labor.
The number of child labor cases investigated by the Department of Labor has skyrocketed by 89% in 2024, compared to last year. The DOL has investigated 726 cases in 2024 which uncovered more than 4,000 children being employed in dangerous and illegal jobs.
What the Des Moines Register never mentions in its crack reporting is that the kids are all illegal aliens working the night shifts at these jobs. (It’s the same newspaper that claimed Kamala Harris was going to flip Iowa blue, after all.) American parents aren’t sending their 13-year-olds out to clean hog head splitters in the middle of the night with caustic chemicals. If Tom Homan wants to track down those missing kids, it sounds like a good place to start would be in Iowa’s meat-packing industry.
